The second value was determined at the time of maximum serum SDH activity as a marker of acute liver injury. Peak serum SDH activities varied between woodchucks and were detected at 4 weeks postinfection in woodchuck M3540, at 5 weeks postinfection in woodchucks F3991 and M3553, at 10 weeks postinfection in woodchuck F3524, and at 12 weeks postinfection in woodchucks F3538 and F3539 (Fig. 1).
