  • a Subconfluent Vero cell monolayers (approximately 8 × 105 cells) were infected with each virus at an MOI of 5, and at 12 and 24 h p.i. the total number of infectious virions was determined, as well as the number of infectious virions within cells and extracellular fluids. The ratio of extracellular (out) to intracellular (in) virions at 24 h p.i. is also shown. The virus yields represent one of three experiments in which individual numbers varied by less than twofold.
