  • a Radioactivity in RNA bands in the gel shown in Fig. 2 was quantitated by scanning with an Image Quant PhosphorImager (Molecular Dynamics). The subtracted background intensity for each band was determined from a rectangle of equal size drawn immediately above or below the rectangle for the band. Indicated RNA bands from two independent wild-type samples (lanes 1 and 2), Alb169 (lane 3), and Alb170 (lane 4) were quantitated.
