The presence of the JF allele of tvb in these birds was confirmed by using the tvbs1 -specific R2 antiserum, which agglutinates erythrocytes of JF, but not WL, chickens (2). The presence of the JF-specific allele of com152e was shown by RFLP analysis, which detected two independent SacI restriction enzyme genomic DNA fragments that are found specifically in JF but not WL chickens (11).
