All Rights Reserved.): Sendai virus replicates in the presence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus nucleocapsid protein, which has interferon antagonist activity. 293T cells were transfected with green fluorescent protein (GFP)-tagged N protein for 24 h and then infected with Sendai virus for 24 h. Cells were stained for Sendai virus structural proteins by using HN-specific monoclonal antibodies (red) and for DNA by using DAPI (blue). GFP-tagged N protein is shown in green. Cells were analyzed by confocal microscopy, and the image was stylized with Adobe Photoshop. (See related article on page 548.)
