The structural analysis included fitting the crystal structures of two capsid proteins, hexon and penton base, and secondary structure predictions for the remaining capsid proteins. Only protein IX is predicted to have a strong propensity for coiled-coil formation. One vertex region is shown to illustrate the newly visualized coiled-coil (magenta) assigned to the protein IX C-terminal domain.
