Frozen sections of diestrus mouse vaginal tissues were stained with antibodies against E-cadherin (green) and nectin-1 (red) and analyzed by confocal microscopy. Nectin-1 expression was restricted to the cell junctions at the superficial vaginal epithelial layer, primarily at the E-cadherin⁺ adherens junction. (See related article on page 2530.)
