Primary human umbilical vein endothelial cells were infected with an infectious KSHV derived from a recombinant bacterial artificial chromosome. Infected cells express green fluorescent protein from a cassette in the recombinant viral genome and are converted to spindle shapes, forming bundle structures that are reminiscent of Kaposi's sarcoma vascular structures.
