All Rights Reserved.): Rocket-shaped crystals of the equine infectious anemia virus matrix protein from which the structure, shown centrally, was determined by using X-ray crystallography. The structure exhibits a high degree of similarity to the matrix proteins of the human and simian immunodeficiency viruses, despite their lack of sequence similarity, but does not associate as a trimer in these crystals.
